The extensive rock removal works have now been completed on site. It is anticipated whilst undertaking smaller scale excavation works for service trenching in coming weeks the team may encounter further rock, however, this will be less intensive and shorter in duration than previous excavation works.
Later additions and unsafe and uninhabitable structures from the Homestead Precinct have been removed. The original historical homestead, kitchen wing have been retained and will be incorporated into the adaptive reuse of the homestead as a multipurpose function space. Keyton agreed with the Community and Stakeholder Panels Precinct Brief on the condition of the slab hut, this building will be rebuilt to largely reflect the original built form, repurposed into an arts studio and small multipurpose meeting space, with the chimney from original building retained.
